Stars’ Eye Clinic has been providing ophthalmology services to the Japanese and foreign community since 2003.
Our experienced ophthalmologists provide treatments for a wide range of eye problems and also prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses.
General Information for Patients
- English speaking doctor is available Wednesday and Thursday at the Akasaka clinic, and is available Monday, Tuesday and Friday at the Shiki clinic.
(Please note: attendance days may change from time to time.) - Our staff is limited in their English and may use a translator device to help provide better communication. In all cases, they will do their best to helpfully serve you.
If you call the clinic, our staff can help schedule an appointment. However, other inquiries may be difficult due to language. If you have difficulty communicating over the phone with our staff, please email your inquiry in English, and we will respond as quickly as possible. - If you are covered by Japanese health insurance, please bring your health insurance card. Without the insurance card, we will need to charge you the full service fee.
- In Japan, contact lenses cannot be purchased without a prescription; and an eye exam is required to make a prescription.

(Visa, Master, AMEX, JCB).

In our clinic
- ・The physical condition of staff and doctors is checked every day.
- ・We regularly disinfect the clinic.
- ・The diagnostic equipment for patients is disinfected after each use.
- ・All staff use masks and face guards.
- ・Some windows are open for ventilation.
Request to patients
- ・Be sure to wear a mask in the clinic to help prevent any spread of infectious disease.
- ・When you enter the clinic, please disinfect your hands with the alcohol we have prepared.
- ・Please refrain from coming to the clinic if you have illness symptoms such as fever, cough, or sore throat.

General
ophthalmologyWe provide examination and treatment of common eye problems such as hordeolum (sty), chalazion (stiffness of the eyelids), conjunctivitis, and keratitis, as well as diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal detachment.

Contact lens
We carry a wide range of disposable contact lenses from many well-known manufacturers. We have both hard lenses and soft lenses.
(Please note: in Japan, contact lenses cannot be purchased without a prescription.) -
Glasses
We provide eyeglass prescriptions for myopia and presbyopia.

Cataract
surgeryWe offer one-day cataract surgery; and experienced ophthalmology surgeons perform the procedure.(If possible, please be accompanied by an attendant who can speak Japanese.)

Orthokeratology
We perform orthokeratology as a treatment for suppressing myopia in children and as a correction for myopia in adults. (There is a specialist doctor in charge of this treatment, so please make an appointment in advance.)

Stars’ Eye Clinic is located near Tameike Intersection in Akasaka. Our building is opposite Exit 11 of Tameike Sanno Station of the Tokyo Metro Subway, and there is a Doutor coffee shop on the ground level (first floor). The building entrance is to the right of the coffee shop, and Stars’ Eye Clinic is on 4th floor.

Stars' Eye Clinic is located near the bus terminal at the south exit of Shiki Station on the Tobu-Tojo Line. The clinic is on the 3rd floor. There is an elevator on the first floor of the building.Alternatively, please use the stairs on the left side of the entrance to reach the 3rd floor.
